The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive developing team has announced that the beta will go live for all current key holders on November 30.

The beta for CS:GO was originally supposed to launch in end October, but as the month closed out, the CS:GO developing team announced that the October launch would be missed.

Last night, news about the beta finally came, as the developers tweeted that November 30 will be the day the beta will go live. The beta will go live for all current key holders and no word has been put out as to when more keys will be given away.

But do remember, as Chet Faliszek said in an interview with us, HLTV.org will be receiving a batch of keys to give away.

The beta will launch with just two maps, de_dust and de_dust2 and is only available for PC, not console. Do make sure to keep your eyes open as to when keys will be up for grabs on HLTV.org and we will be bringing you some updates once the beta is live.

The Counter Strike: Global Offensive closed beta went live on November 30 and it seems that some avid fans has discovered the map list for the game.

The information started flowing around on the official Steam forums as the key holders analyzed in-game functionalities and game files, having found what seems to be the complete map list for the game itself. The list, located in the game's "maplist.txt" file lists 16 maps.

Valve's Chet Faliszek had already stated earlier this year that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive would feature 16 maps on three different platforms (PC, PS3 and XBOX 360) – eight classic maps and eight Gun Game maps. The Arsenal mode has two different approaches, demolition and arms race .

The maps listed in the file can be divided into two sections:

Classic maps

cs_office
de_aztec
de_dust
de_dust2
de_inferno
de_nuke
de_train

Arsenal mode maps

ar_baggage
ar_shoots
de_shorttrain
de_bank
de_lake
de_safehouse
de_sugarcane
de_stmarc

The "ar" maps stand for "arms race", traditionally known as gungame, while the "de" maps are a fusion between normal demoliton mode with the setup of a gungame match.

There will also be a bonus training map named "training1" which should be part of the "Training Course" tab in the game's menu. According with the information displayed in the console this local play mode will be a time trial practise course, similiar to the one featured in Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes.

Relatively to other possible maps, there was also some speculation around a few console logs that pointed out some unknown map names such as:

de_mill
de_shacks
gg_vietnam

A campaign mode was also the target of speculation as a file named "missioncycle.txt" was found containing only 4 words inside: "airport, farm, hospital, smalltown" which could be a sign of things to come.

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive developers stated their satisfaction via their official twitter with the stress test, which included 10,000 key holders from around the world that were lucky enough to be the first ones to try out the game.

Although the stress test wasn't a real success from an outsider's point of view for some as the testing-players peak was relatively low for the amount of keys that were given out, the developers seem happy with the amount of interest and feedback from everyone in the testing community, from players to websites.

Sal "Volcano" Garozzo's feedback session may have proven to be helpful in the development of the game, as the changelog for the beta has a total of 85 lines, including more maps and weapons.

This update will not only feature more in-game content but also more players, as they've announced that they will be inviting more people to play the beta.
